How To Share Your Travel Adventures With Others

Five Ways You Can Share Your Travel Adventures With Others

Travelling is the best, isn’t it? We get to take a break from the everyday, soak in a new culture, try some amazing new foods, and see some incredible things that will stay with us forever!

It’s a big world out there, and you’re missing out if you’re not going somewhere you’ve never been now and then.

There’s also something incredibly satisfying about sharing our stories and pictures with others. We get to connect with our friends and family about the places we’ve been, help others experience a different place without ever stepping on an airplane, educate them about how different people live their lives, and have them gushing with jealousy when we show off pictures of that authentic amazing sushi plate we had in the heart of Tokyo!

Whether you’re an international traveller, or just like to go on the occasional road trip, you probably want to document your own experiences, so that you have keepsakes to remember them by, and share your stories with others. Read ahead to discover a few ways you can do just that!

Post Your Pics on Social Media

Whether you make your presence known more on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest, you can always rely on your social media platforms to house your best photos!

Sharing your pics on social media is a guaranteed way to ensure that people see what you’ve been up to lately, and get some uplifting feedback from your followers. In addition, by uploading your photos onto social media, you’re keeping them in a place that won’t get lost or destroyed, a luxury you don’t have if you only keep your photos on your phone or a flash drive.

Facebook and other social media platforms also allow you to ‘Check In’ at the places you visit. Your friends and family will be able to follow you along with you, seeing how you’re progressing in your journey, and it will be a big relief for mom and dad to know that you’re safe. Plus, by sharing our pics on social media, we’re giving our friends and followers ideas for their next big adventure, and they’ll be thanking us for years to come!

Chronicle Your Adventures in a Travel Blog

Blogging is a great way to share your adventures in a way that’s entertaining for both you and your readers. It helps you out because you get to improve your writing skills while you craft a great post, and readers get to hear about the fun, zany, crazy treks you’ve been on!

A travel blog may also be a great way for you to make some extra money, if you’re got the skill to build a large enough following. Sponsors, advertisers, other bloggers, and guest authors could all be potentially willing to pay you to post their content, or have you write something about them!

Blogging is also easy to get into, and you can do it anywhere you go, so long as you have a halfway decent internet connection. You just start with a domain, pick out a page template you like, and start uploading your unforgettable moments!

Start a Scrapbook

Scrapbooking is a fun, inexpensive, creative way that you can chronicle your travels, and anybody can do it! Depending on how intricate and detailed you want to be, your scrapbook can truly become a work of art in its own right.

To get started, all you’ll need is a scrapbook, either one you’ve made yourself or premade, some glue or tape, and the articles you want to put in. These can include anything like photos, a receipt for your plane ticket, a paper menu from a restaurant, or anything that relates to your trip! Handwritten notes and captions are also a great way to inject more personality into your scrapbook, and will help other people understand what a particular object in the book is, and where you were when you got it.

Another fun thing you can do is to take your scrapbook on the road with you, and add to it as you go along! You can get autographs from famous or interesting people you meet, get a stamp from the customs agent in another country, and show it to other travellers you meet to share your previous adventures while you enjoy your current one!

Keep a Video Diary

Photos and words are great, but they leave a lot to the imaginations of the people who weren’t with you at the time. To help you recall your travels even more clearly, and paint a crystal clear picture for others, consider keeping a video diary of your adventures.

There’s something engaging about videos that give them an edge over photos and words as well. Besides showing the things you’ve seen, people can hear the busy streets of cities, the gentle breeze through a jungle, or the crashing waves of the ocean, helping to draw them in, and keep them engaged.

And making a video diary doesn’t have to be a strenuous, technical affair either. Cell phone cameras and GoPros produce high quality, easy to edit, and instantly shareable videos, so you don’t have to buy a lot of fancy equipment or have a Film Studies degree to make a compelling video that your friends and family will love watching with you.

Send Postcards as You Go Along

If you’re taking an extensive trip, one that includes going to states or countries, a fun activity to help people keep up with you is to send them postcards directly from the places you visit!

Aside from being great keepsakes to post in the scrapbook we mentioned, postcards are a way you can use to keep your family and friends up to date with your travels, without having to rely on computers or the internet. Depending on where you go, it might be hard to find power sources that will let you charge your phone or computer, to say nothing of finding a reliable internet connection. Besides, you took a trip to get away from your regular life and experience something new, right? Save the digital stuff for when you get home!

“Greetings From…”

If you’re blessed enough have travelled extensively, it’s a great feeling to share all of those experiences with the people closest to you, and make some wonderful memories that you can look back on as the years pass. If you haven’t, there’s no time like the present to get started, and you can use the methods we’ve talked about to recall every moment of your new adventures!
