You board your first flight of the day feeling calm and confident, knowing you have three hours to connect when you land. The next thing you know, your flight is stuck in the air circling until a thunderstorm leaves the area. Finally the plane lands, but now you are stuck waiting on the tarmac in a line of other plans that also just landed. When the plane is finally parked, you have 20 minutes before your connecting flight leaves. Adding to your stress is that you had to gate check your carry-on.
So now you are anxiously waiting for the gate checked bags to appear and looking at your phone to determine the fastest way to get to the C terminal from your current location in the A terminal. You get your bag and run, as fast as you can, heels in one hand and carry-on bag in the other. Just as you spot your gate, you see gate agent closing the door. Feeling optimistic, you keep running, only to watch your connecting flight pulling away from the terminal.
Does this sound familiar? It sounds all too real to me because it is a true story. Yeah, I was the crazy lady running through the Atlanta airport. Insert hashtag here- #hotmess.
