2017 Best Hotel Loyalty Programs

The Most Popular Hotel Loyalty Programs

Are you wondering what the most popular hotel loyalty programs are? J.D. Power completed a Hotel Loyalty Program Satisfaction Study. The study measured customer satisfaction by examining four factors (in order of importance): ease of earning and redeeming rewards (35%); program benefits (27%); account management (22%); and member communication (16%). Satisfaction is measured on a 1,000-point scale.

The study discovered that frequent travelers are searching for more than free hotel nights when it comes to redemption options. The best reward redemption option is products purchases at retailers, followed by redemption involving special events. The top five hotel loyalty program reward redemption options are:

  1. Merchandise purchases at retailers
  2. Redemption involving special events
  3. Car rentals
  4. Dining
  5. Hotel stays

When it comes to the most popular hotel loyalty program, Marriott Rewards is the winner. The World of Hyatt program came in only one point below Marriott Rewards. The third most popular hotel loyalty program is Hilton Honors.
